A fresh wave of endorsements.
Today 23 of Utah’s more prominent Democratic leaders, including Rep. Ben McAdams, Mayor Jenny Wilson, and County DA Sim Gill, endorsed Greg Skordas for Attorney General. Greg is running to replace Sean Reyes as Utah’s top law enforcement officer.
“I’m honored to receive the support of Utah’s Democratic leadership. These Utah leaders understand the importance of reforming the AG’s office.” Skordas continued, “For 20 years, Utah Attorneys General have engaged in the practice of taking political contributions from individuals and businesses with questionable histories. It was well known that one way to get the AG to “look the other way” is to make a large campaign contribution. I’m running to end the degradation of the Utah Attorney General’s office.”
Greg has been practicing law for 38 years and has practiced in all of Utah’s 29 Counties. Throughout his 30-year career, he has been both a prosecutor and a public defender and has seen first-hand how the law affects all Utahns.
Congressman Ben McAdams said, “Greg’s depth of experience is exactly what voters need in the AG’s office. Utah’s top prosecutor should be an accountability checkpoint for all Utahns.”
Skordas is running to be the people’s attorney. Everyday people need someone looking out for them—someone who will not politicize the way the law is applied. With an eye for shared values and the heart to protect the vulnerable, Greg Skordas will proudly serve Utah as its next Attorney General.
Summit County Attorney, Margaret Olson spoke highly of Greg’s leadership. “I have spent countless hours in court with Greg over the years and seen him in action. We’ve worked together and we’ve worked as adversaries. Greg is a skilled advocate and leader, representing victims of crime and as a voice for our entire criminal justice system. Greg embodies all the highest professional and ethical standards in our profession. I believe Greg’s experience and priorities are exactly what we need in the Utah Attorney General’s Office right now.”
State Democratic Party Chair, Jeff Merchant said of Skordas, “Greg’s many years of legal experience make him ideal to lead Utah’s Attorney General’s Office, but more than that, his integrity, commitment and thoughtfulness make him perfect for the job.”
